David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The author

Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was reached following an investigation into claims about questionable actions involving women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
